CBM demands early notifications of O.T.S./Amnesty Scheme for VAT Cases and converting old commercial buildings from leasehold to freehold on rationalized charges

Major resolutions passed in the Executive Body Meeting of Chandigarh Beopar Mandal

CHANDIGARH, 22 MARCH: More than 75 trader leaders of city being Executive Members of Chandigarh Beopar Mandal, the Apex Body of traders attended the first Executive Body Meeting held at Hotel in Sector-34.  

 Charanjiv Singh, President, CBM in first Executive Body Meeting of Chandigarh Beopar Mandal held yesterday while delivering his welcome address appealed to the Government for early resolving of pending trader issues especially making old commercial buildings from leasehold to freehold on very rationalized charges, notifying Apartment act in the city and absolving of any unearned profits for new transfers of properties while sharing activities of CBM in the new term till date. Sh. Charanjiv Singh also thanked Chandigarh Administration in expending scope of Trade Welfare Board and putting CBM in important Central Govt. GST Redressal Committee.

While two members who recently won be Market Association Elections in their respective Sector Markets namely Prit Pal Singh Sodhi, President, Sector 41 Market and Raj Kumar Bansal, President, Grain Market Association, Sector 26 were facilitated at the meeting. Earlier sad demises of two of its old members namely Jagdish Kapoor and Ramesh Dhall were mourned by paying two minute silence.

General Body Meeting held at Hotel G.K. International, Sector 35, Chandigarh in which more than 75 out of 126 Executive Body Members are participated and other than President others who spoke were namely Ram Karan Gupta, Chairman, GST Coordination Sub-Committee who repeated demand of Amnesty Scheme for pending Vat Cases on pattern of Punjab Government and bringing goods under lowers and lesser slabs of Vat

Sanjeev Chadha, Chairman, M.C. Coordination Committee demanded reasonable garbage collection charges in the markets by the M.C. collection Vehicles while describing activities of their Sub-Committees. Diwakar Sahoonja, Patron cum Official Spokes Person, CBM explained the importance of soon to be launched CBM BUSINESS PORTAL and updating of Website of CBM. Baljinder Gujral, Gen. Secy., CBM who conducted the proceedings presented recommendation of Membership Sub-Committee recommending four new members which was approved by the members.

Others who spoke on the occasion were Anil Vohra, Patron who emphasized on active participation by each and every member in meetings of CBM, Sunil Gupta, Vice President, demanding early shifting of auction platform to Sector 39 from Grain Market. Jaswinder Nagpal, Ramesh Ahuja and Anuj Sehgal spoke on issue of membership to important booth markets and galvanizing working of subcommittees of CBM. In the end Purshotam Mahajan, Patron appealed to all members to share responsibilities and give chance to new members in Government nominated bodies in his formal vote of thanks.
