CBM DEMANDS ONE MORE REPRESENTATION TO BE GIVEN TO CHAIRMAN CBM IN ADMINISTRATOR ADVISERY COUNCIL APART FROM ALREADY ONE REPRESENTATION GIVEN TO PRESIDENT CBM

CHANDIGARH: A delegation of Chandigarh Beopar Mandal (CBM) the apex body of traders of the city consisting of Sh. Charanjiv Singh, Sh. Satpal Gupta, Sh. Sanjeev Chadha, Sh. Kamaljit Singh Panchhi and Sh. Ravinder Singh Billa called on Sh. Nitin Kumar Yadav IAS, New Home Secretary, Chandigarh, U.T. in his office and presented him formal welcome letter on behalf of traders of the city and told him about the formation and activities of CBM. Trader’s issues were also discussed in detail in half an hour long meeting. 

Sh. Charanjiv Singh, President, CBM said that property should be made freehold to spruce up sagging trade of City. He also said no more Vendor Zones should be made effective in City Markets especially in 1st Phase Sectors as they are already very congested. Parking/Footpath should be kept free of Vendors. 


Sh. Satpal Gupta, Chairman, CBM while presenting him Souvenir and Directory of CBM urged him to rationalize the Collectorate rates in Sector-7, Madhya Marg as it is more than the Market price and Sector 17-A & B which is still under developed as compared to Plaza in main City Center, Sector 17-C, D & E.  

Sh. Sanjeev Chadha, Gen. Secy., CBM said that Sector-17 should be kept as no Vendor Zone and Green Belt opposite the GPO should be developed as amusement park with eatable stalls so that area is upgraded to be made more attractive for tourists. This will help in boosting of business in the adjoining commercial area.

 
Sh. Kamaljit Singh Panchhi, Gen. Secy., CBM saidthat CBM being a Apex Body of Traders, apart from already one representation to President of CBM, one more representation should be given to Chairman of CBM.


Sh. Ravinder Singh Billa, Advisor, CBM said that he being a Chairman Labour Committee is organizing awareness Camps in Association with Market Associations and Labour Department to make more Market Child Labour free. 6-7 Markets have been already declared Child Labour free with the efforts of his Committee. He also urged him control begging nuisance in the city markets and light points.   

Sh. Nitin Kumar Yadav, HS assured sympathetic consideration to the issues. He also said that there is need to increase the tourism in the city by making new policies which will improve business and employment opportunities in the city. He also talked about increasing footfall in Sector 17 market by giving permission to small time musicians or some other type of entertainment activities in the Plaza.
