CHANDIGARH: Meeting of Building Byelaws Committee of Chandigarh Beopar Mandal (CBM) was convened today under the Chairmanship of Ar. Vinod Joshi, where Mr. Charanjiv Singh President of Chandigarh Beopar Mandal and other Members Mr. Anil Vohra, Mr. Radhey Lal Bajaj, Mr. Subhash Narang were present.
The Committee welcomed the decision of the Chandigarh Administration to auction/re-auction residential, commercial, industrial, nursing home sites on a FREEHOLD basis. This will help the owners and prospective purchasers to carry on sales without any difficulty. Other two agencies i.e. Chandigarh Housing Board and Municipal Corporation should also adopt this decision for sale of their properties on Freehold basis. It was further decided in the meeting to request Administration that the rates of conversion from lease hold to freehold, may be reduced considerably to facilitate long pending cases of conversion properties into freehold. Larger the freehold conversion applicants, the Administration will earn Crores of rupees by allowing freehold conversions.
