CHANDIGARH, 2 MARCH: RAAH- The Library Club of DAV College, Sector-10, Chandigarh organised Book Exchange Programme and Reference Hunting event in the library on March 2nd, 2023. Book Exchange Drive was started on 20th Feb and ended on March 2nd, 2023.
Students and teachers participated in this drive by sharing the books from their personal collection. The purpose was to motivate tech savvy students of “social media world” to read books. College librarian, Mrs. Deepti Madaan emphasised that such activities are an attempt to motivate the young minds towards gaining knowledge by reading good books and visiting libraries. She inspired the students to make an effort as every little effort counts and little things make a big difference. Principal of the college, Dr. Pawan Sharma appreciated RAAH team members for this unique initiative and encouraged them to spend more time in libraries.
Reference hunting activity also received an overwhelming response. 15 teams of two students each participated in the event and the first three teams were given prizes. It was fun way of learning how to search OPAC and how to locate the books in the stacks. The students shown keen interest in the activities. RAAH team members Himanshi, Vanshika, Yash Sharma, Nitin, Nishchay, Savi and Radhika worked arduously for the success of both the events.
