delegation of Chandigarh Beopar Mandal called on SSP Traffic & Security and welcomed him

CHANDIGARH, 13 MARCH: A delegation of Police Co-ordination Committee of Chandigarh Beopar Mandal consisting of Charanjiv Singh, Kamaljit Singh Panchhi, Anil Vohra, Baljinder Gujral, Pritpal Singh Sodhi and Rajan Mahajan today called on Sumer Partap Singh, SSP Traffic & Security and welcomed him to the city beautiful on behalf of traders of city.

Charanjiv Singh, President, CBM while presenting him welcome letter said that Chandigarh Beopar Mandal is the non political apex body of traders of the city beautiful and it constitutes representatives from more than 125 Market Welfare & Trader Welfare Associations of the city. He also said that there is a parking problem in the markets and there is urgent need to provide additional parking space around the markets including 4-5 multi storey parking in congested markets.

Anil Vohra, Patron, CBM said that the Aims and Objective of Chandigarh Beopar Mandal are unity amongst traders, welfare of the traditional Markets and the traders of the city by maintaining a good liaison with Chandigarh Administration, Chandigarh Police, Municipal Corporation & other related Govt. departments. Kamaljit Singh Panchhi, General Secretary cum Chairman, Police Co-ordination Committee, CBM said we are quite hopeful that the issue of smooth movement of traffic and management of parking in the markets will be taken care of on priority by your goodself and awareness campaign would be launched to educate the public.
Pritpal Singh Sodhi, Advisor, CBM said we also suggest that office bearers of Chandigarh Beopar Mandal should be associated with police advisory committees and other public participation campaigns lunched by Chandigarh Police from time to time. Baljinder Singh Gujral, General Secretary, CBM said that Sector 45, Kesho Ram Complex is a wholesale market and customer visit the market from adjoining states. As that is no parking space in the market, so traffic police should be lenient and provide 5 feet space on each side of road for parking of vehicles by marking yellow line to facilitate the customer coming from outside. Rajan Mahajan, Advisor, CBM said that abandoned vehicles remained parked in market parking resulting to congestion in parking lots. These vehicles should be towed away to provide relief to general public in markets.

Officers extended his thanks to the delegation for welcoming him and assured to the do the best possible to improve movement of traffic and parking facility in and around markets in the city.
