Punjab elections: The furlough of Ram Rahim is linked to the Punjab election. Bhagwant Mann said the law is taking its place.
Punjab elections in 2022: Punjab politics is tense over Haryana government’s decision of granting furlough to Ram Rahim, convicted of rape and murder. There is speculation that Ram Rahim has been given furlough due to the Punjab election. Bhagwant Mann, the CM candidate of the Aam Aadmi Party, however, called it a matter of law.
Bhagwant Mann declined to comment on the furlough to Ram Rahim. Bhagwant Mann said, “it is wrong to say anything. The law is taking its place. We must not comment on this”.
Bhagwant Mann continued: “The court is doing its job. The case of Ram Rahim is a court case. Earlier the court also denied Ram Rahim’s bail. However, the court granted Ram Rahim bail on a medical charge.
There are allegations of ‘beadbi’

Ram Rahim was sentenced to 20 years in prison for rape in 2017, Ram Rahim was later found guilty of killing a journalist and sentenced to life in prison.
