CBM CALLS ON FINANCE SECRETARY FOR EARLY IMPLEMENTATION OF OTS SCHEME FOR DISPOSAL OF OLD VAT ASSESSMENT CASES ON PUNJAB PATTERN


CHANDIGARH: A delegation of GST Coordination Committee of Chandigarh Beopar Mandal (CBM), the apex body of traders of the city consisting of Sh. Charanjiv Singh, Sh. Parshottam Mahajan, Sh. Sanjeev Chadha, Sh. Pardeep Malhotra and Sh. Harjeet Singh called on Sh. Vijay N. Zade, Finance Secretary, Chandigarh, U.T. in his office and submitted a Memorandum and copy of Punjab OTS Scheme with a request for early implementation of OTS scheme on Punjab pattern for disposal of old VAT Assessment cases. He was kind enough to talk to D.C. cum ETC Sh. Mandip Brar to send the case to him immediately and he also promised to consider it sympathetically.  

Sh. Charanjiv Singh, President, CBM said that dealers of Chandigarh is in great trouble due to huge tax demands of old VAT Assessment cases because of non supply of C-Forms by the purchasing dealers of other states.


Sh. Sanjeev Chadha, Gen. Secy., CBM said that this type of scheme has been already implemented in the neighboring states of Punjab, Haryana and Himachal Pradesh and he also handed over notification of Himachal Pradesh Government for such scheme.

 
Sh. Parshottam Mahajan, Patron, CBM said that Chandigarh being a small state, administration should give relief to the traders by disposing of old cases in a amnesty scheme as GST is already implemented and traders are busy in its compliance.    

Sh. Harjeet Singh, Secy., CBM saidthat the dealers have actually delivered the goods to the dealers of the neighboring states and it can be verified from the barriers record where entry was must during VAT regime.


Sh. Pardeep Malhotra, Advisor, CBM said as Chandigarh follows the rules and regulations of Punjab therefore the same One Time Settlement Scheme may please be implemented in Chandigarh without further delay. 

In the end Sh. Charanjiv Singh, President, CBM complimented the Finance Secretary for introducing website and online services and payments in the Estate Office as it will bring transparency in the working of Estate Office and convenience to the general public.
