TRADERS DEMAND FREE DISPLAY OF SIGNBOARD FOR UPPER FLOORS IN THE MARKETS

CHANDIGARH, 9 MAY: A memorandum was today handed over to Joint commissioner MC by Chandigarh Beopar Mandal demanding provisions of uniform sized display signboards in front of upper floors of the commercial buildings in the city before any drive is initiated.

Since there is limited commercial space in city hence affordable space for start ups and existing traders is only on upper floors hence separate signage must be permitted for purpose of making public be awared of businesses and such panels be freely allowed as is done for ground floors ..The memorandum is sent after a seminars conducted by the Muncipal corporation asking traders to remove publicity signage at unauthorised spaces in front of the commercial buildings and vardandas proposing annual charges for even simple signboards was recently organised by M.C.
