CHANDIGARH, 20 SEPTEMBER: The library of DAV College, Sector-10, Chandigarh organized an orientation programme today i.e., 20-9-2023 for the academic session 2023-2024. The event also saw the formation of panel of RAAH- The Library Club. Prof. Rita Jain, principal of the college conveyed her blessings and best wishes.
The event started with Komal a student of B.A. 1 highlighting the role of libraries in the academic journey of students. This was followed by virtual tour of library presented by librarian Dr. Deepti Madaan through power point presentation. The librarian explained the print and electronic resources and services offered by the library.
The new panel of RAAH-The Library Club was formed for the academic session 2023-2024. The panel comprises Yash Soni (President), Nitin Rathi (Vice-President), Divyanshi (General Secretary), Saurav Jairath (Joint Secretary) and executive members are Nisarg, Deepalaya, Kavya, Aryan Yadav, Harnoor, Soppan, Puneet, Nandini, Aditi and Mridul. Yash Soni, New President of the Club apprised the audience about various library activities which were held in the previous year. The highlight of the event was reference hunting contest in which the large number of students actively participated. The teams were given a list of questions for which they were supposed to find the answers from the reference sources of the library. Dr. Suman Bharti and Mr. Shelinder Sharma were the judges of the contest. Best three teams were awarded certificate of appreciation.
